I attended an animal first aid training course today with the very likable and personable Ian Martin from First Aid Training Solutions and simply had to blog about it.
I have been fortunate to attend many first aid courses over the years but this was something different.
For a start the course was held on a Saturday – an important yet often overlooked option and held at the very accessible Tanfield Lea Community Centre in County Durham – it was my pleasure to share the centre with a coffee morning held in a good cause and thank you ladies for the chocolate cake and coffee…delicious.
The course material was excellent, the ability to practice what I was learning on actual animal CPR manikins and models was clever, my knowledge levels and confidence to deal with difficult situations are heightened.
But what was most impressive was the effort Ian went to in answering all of our questions above and beyond the syllabus for the day, nothing was too much trouble.
But I guess when you get a group of people together who share the same passion, the conversation runs freely. We simply all love animals.
Thank you Ian, see you again in three years time.
